Alleged female serial killer charged with murder after three people dead in three days: Toronto police

An alleged serial killer has been arrested after what police say was a three-day killing spree.

Sabrina Kauldhar, 30, of Toronto, has been charged with second-degree murder in a death in Toronto and a death in Niagara Falls. She is also charged with first-degree murder in relation to a death in Hamilton.

On Tuesday, Toronto police were called to the Keele Street and Dundas Street West area around 2 p.m., and found a woman in her 60s dead in a residence.

“The woman had trauma to her body,” a police news release said.

Just over 24 hours later, emergency services in Niagara Falls responded to reports of a disturbance in John Allan Park. They found a man with “critical injuries,” the Niagara Regional Police Service said.

Forty-seven-year-old Lance Cunningham was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Thursday, police in Hamilton were called to a stabbing, and a man was found “with significant injuries consistent with a stabbing.” The victim, who police identified as Mario Bilich, died later in hospital.

Police said a subsequent investigation linked all three killings.

“Investigators believe Mario Bilich and Lance Cunningham were randomly targeted, while Kauldhar was known to the Toronto victim,” Niagara police said.

Kauldhar was arrested in Burlington, Ont.

“I think by definition she is a serial killer,” Niagara Regional Police Chief Bill Fordy said.

“We have in excess of 100 investigators trying to understand why something like this takes place, and to gather as much evidence as possible to bring the accused to court.”

Fordy said police are not aware of the suspect’s motive at this time, and the investigation is in “very early” stages.

“When someone has alleged to have committed these types of offences, obviously you would ask the question, ’Is everything OK? Or is there a criminal element?”’ Fordy said. “I think with the passage of time, we’ll have greater clarity.”

Fordy said the suspect has previously “had an interaction with police,” but he did not specify in what capacity.

Police are also searching for another woman, who was seen in CCTV footage buying clothing from a Giant Tiger in Burlington. The clothing that woman bought was later found in Kauldhar’s possession.
